There are definitely voting issues here. The "Autumn" competition that wrapped up this morning is an example. It seems to me that LunaC might have won had he received eight votes, like I did. Instead, he received only five. He lost. I won. It was not a very satisfying victory. Of course, LunaC might have received more votes with unfairly low scores and still lost, but that is another voting problem. Intentionally casting a low vote to undermine a competitor's potential win is foul play, but withholding a vote knowing it may cause equal or greater damage is pretty nasty, too. In fairness, some voters fail to check in for late entries. I have done this myself, but without ill will.
Perhaps the answer is simplification. Eliminating the point system works for me. Thumbs up or thumbs down. If the point system is retained, abolish any penalty for the failure of others to vote. I would also eliminate the Honor and Experience elements that may factor into rankings.
Whenever I look at the #2 slot on the All Time Leader board my heartburn erupts.
